How I Manifested My Book Signing At The Countries Largest Book Festival

At the top of each year, I make a vision board of things I want to achieve within each quarter of the year. I then break them down within goals and how I can accomplish those goals, followed by a couple of affirmations as reinforcements.

"I knew that I wanted to attend more Festivals, and I knew I wanted to get my book out there in the hands of more people."

I knew that I wanted to attend more Festivals, and I knew I wanted to get my book out there in the hands of more people and be chest to chest – face to face (however that saying goes, lol) I knew I had something great that people needed to see. I had a remarkable story that needed to be told.

So, for the next month, I researched, and wrote down those goals consistently, and sent out emails inquiring about how I could make it happen. At the top of each year, I make a vision board of things I want to achieve within each quarter of the year. Not even a week later, a great friend of mines stopped by a bookstore in Los Angeles named Maliks Books, and says "You should reach out to them via e-mail this store would be a wonderful place for your book." I took the card and e-mailed him, and not even a week later. I was invited to do a book-signing at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books in April, which was two months away.

It was the moment where the opportunity met preparation because the gift is nothing without the work.

It was during this process my faith was tested because I was embarking on a journey of the unknown. I was forced to rely on people, and folk I had once considered friends to do things for me when I usually never needed help completing a particular task. They always say when you start to achieve a certain level of success (or even get a taste)

– you begin to see people's true colors, and the exact colors I saw. I chose to be my biggest cheerleader and continued to practice consistency to be a better well-rounded author than I was yesterday. Regardless of how many times others decided to put me down, I never kept their word or didn't believe in me.

I'll leave you with this "People may not believe in you, and your journey allows that non-believer to drive you to success.

-xo until next time.
